A Scary Moment in Baseball
Brewers Shut Jimmy Nelson Down
The Milwaukee Brewers have decided to place Jimmy Nelson on the 60-Day DL, ending his season. Nelson was hit in the head on a comeback line drive last thursday night at Miller Park. While he avoided any serious injuries, the dangerous play put an early end to his season.
Tommy Pham turned an 89mph slider around at 104mph, striking Nelson directly in the side of the head, providing a scary moment for everybody at the ballpark. Pham was visibly shaken at second base when play stopped and later told media he said a prayer for the young pitcher.
Nelson spent 48 hours in the hospital for precautionary purposes before rejoining the team. Although he won’t pitch again this year, Nelson figures to be a stalwart in the Brewers rotation heading into next season. We wish Jimmy all the luck going forward and hope to offer him some peace of mind with a Ball Cap Liner for next year.
